Here’s one of my favorite insights on persistence, from a former American president, Calvin Coolidge

“Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence…

  • Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful individuals with talent
  • Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
  • Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts
  • Persistence & determination are omnipotent. “

Great words from a great man. Kind of sorts things into their proper perspective, ¿no?

Of course, it goes without saying, that the persistence we’re speaking of proper kind of persistence, persistence in the pursuit of your bigger visions, not pounding away at more of the same hoping to eke out some incremental progress before collapsing in burnout.
