Flash mob leadership? A case study? Yepo.

In the MLM world I'm involved in, we talk a lot about leadership. This shows the real story about leadership, which is not usually visible, within 3 minutes, much like time lapse photography can make visible the growth of a flower.

Derek Sivers presented this at a TED Conference, so you know it's high quality. TED don't have no junk.

It starts with a lone, shirtless, short-clad, barefoot young luny dancing in the grass on the side of a mountain.

The Flash Mob Leadership Case Study

These are lessons in leadership, what I call the flash mob leadership case study.

It may sound ridiculous to talk about flash mob leadership – but watch this demo.

"Now comes the first follower with a crucial role: he publicly shows everyone how to follow. Notice the leader embraces him as an equal, so it's not about the leader anymore – it's about them, plural. Notice he's calling to his friends to join in. It takes guts to be a first follower!"

The lesson, as Sivers continues, is not necessarily to be the lone nut, but…

"We're told we all need to be leaders, but that would be really ineffective.
The best way to make a movement, if you really care, is to courageously follow and show others how to follow."
