You undoubtedly know the absolute value achievers attribute to visualization.

Let’s go one step further… It’s built into the NASA and the Soviet space training programs and missions, and it’s a part of high stakes sports like the Olympics. Both of these careers are characterized by the fact that the energy and performance must be there when it’s needed. There’s an event during which the subject must perform at incredibly high levels of performance on appointment.

Visualization gives you ability to control your connections, to drive your motivation. Visualization is programming the experience in. You cannot have a thought, feeling or sentiment, without having a physical movement.  This is the domain of neurophysiology.

There is definitely a science to visualization. You want to visualize in ways that really make a difference.

Let me give you a real quick acronym, a real quick run-through of one important new idea I tucked into the pages of The NEW Think and Grow Rich relating to the science of visualization.

It’s an acronym called VAKOGËM, an acronym of the nature of NASA, which means National Aeronautics and Space Administration… Only this one serves as a reminder of the present tense, associated sensory items you want to charge into your achievement and goal visualizations.

VAKOGËM is everything you put in your achievement and goal visualizations. And we do, of course, context this in the present tense, associated – in other words, it’s happening now and you are the center of the action. You see everything as if you are the person it is happening to – in the center of the heat of the action, not as if you were an observer outside, like from a stadium seat looking down to the field. You are on the field, in the action, taking a quick peek up.

Here’s a brief idea starter on each sensory channel. What specifics might you charge into your goal and achievement visualizations?… Right now.

V: Visual

V, visual. What can be happening, what can be moving, what can be big, what can be little? What can be grave, what can be vibrant?! Obviously the bad things in your life, the things you’re leaving behind turn gray and black and white and fade away while the good things find themselves more vibrant and energetic, like fireworks, pulsing with energy. That’s visual.

A: Auditory

Auditory is the A. What sound(s), what do you hear when you achieve your thing? What is it, for instance, if you’re affirming an emotion of love, a relationship of love? What are you feeling, what are you saying between each other?

Where are you at, what is an empowerment signal to you? I know for me I love to hear water, I love to hear airplanes; these are consciously chosen and connected! You can do it, too,

K: Kinesthetic

V-A-K, kinesthetic. What are you feeling? What are you doing, are you exercising? If you’re exercising is there sweat dripping off your chin? Are you dancing? Rock-it! Is it hot? Is it cold? How do your clothes feel on your body?

O: Olfactory

V-A-K-O, olfactory What are you smelling? Is there anything in the environment that has a chararistic odor? Give me a break! Depending on what your ambitions and your goals, and the purpose of your intentions for whatever qualifications, whatever autosuggestions, whatever affirmations you make, olfactory may be part of it. If it’s a wedding, for instance, there may be a lot of flowers, there may be a lot of cake. There may be a lot of perfume…

G: Gustatory

V-A-K-O-G, gustatory. What is you’re eating? Now I have had a client for some years who is a chef – believe me, you cannot imagine the shades of distinction in taste. It’s been a new one to me. But for you, is there anything there? In your celebrations are you eating? Or is it with your family, and believe me, your own visualizations are yours. Where are you celebrating? Are you enjoying eating and drinking? Is it part of your visualization?

Ë: Emotional

V-A-K-O-G-Ë, emotion. Here’s an emotional trick… To beef up the impact of the emotion component, I’ve even christened the e for emotion with two dots above it: ë. The double dots, called an umlaut, signify you give the emotional dimension of your affirmations extra energy. What are you feeling? Do you feel passion? The more passion you can feel the better off you are. And for those less than pleasant experiences you’ve had – the ones you’ve permanently learned your lessons from – the more forgetfulness, the more “just can’t remember,” can’t feel, can’t connect, the more better!

M: Movement

And then finally, V-A-K-O-G-Ë-M, movement. Life moves in events. Life comes to me when my spouse, brother, or my son, or my daughter, or my dad, or my friend, or my boss, says something to me that makes me go umph!.. What kind of movement is involved with the achievement of your greatest dreams? The human mind loves novelty! Why else could the giant entertainment industry churn out one blockbuster after another?

Apply the VAKOGËM formula. It’s a checklist, it’s an integrity check to empower all your goal and achievement visualizations.
